I'm a cheapskate and I think it's great.

Today, my new shoes arrived. Well, new to me. They were gently used by someone in California. I am in Tennessee. I bought them on eBay for only 99 cents - paid $9 shipping. The shoes are great. Skechers. Brown. Fashionable. And, they fit.

I took Levi to the doctor this morning. I blogged yesterday that we have a stomach bug in our house. Last night he pooped and it went through two diapers (we have a second larger diaper on the outside of his regular diaper for extra protection), soaked through his clothes and mine, hitting my skin before it had time to cool. What a feeling. He's still feeling kind of rough, but he should be getting better soon.

Busy times

It's been crazy. We've had a stomach bug enter the house. Poor Kaymie and Levi have been sick with it. We've cleaning poopy diapers and getting puked on like crazy. I think they're getting better.

It's been pretty busy at work, too. I plan to complete some more certifications with Xerox and GCC soon. I'll wait till I here from GCC about the first one before I do any more with them. It probably would be a good idea to check with Brother to see about becomming an ASP for thier products, too.

The TV busted yesterday, so I rushed out and bought a new one. We'd had it for ever and it was used when we got it. Some of the buttons were broke off which made it where you had to stick something into the wholes to turn it on/off or the volume up. I usally used my glasses. Sometimes, one of the kids would ask me for my glasses so he could adjust the tv. What a gas!

Homework and Dreams

Homework:

Last night, Sean asked me to help with a school project he's been working on for several weeks. I thought it was going pretty well until I was told the project was due today. That just about made me mad. It's so typical of Sean to put stuff off like that, too. I've been asking him regularly how his progress on his project was going. He kept assurring me that all was well.

So, at about 8.30 pm, I faced a decision. Either tell him he's on his own because he waited till the last minute, or basically do it for him. I knew that if I left it to him to finish, it would not get done. That made me even madder. So, I just tore into finishing it. By 10 pm, I was done.

I made him help me some and he hovered most of the time watching the process. He saw, every step of the way, how it was done.

This morning, I was kind of thinking that I may have made a mistake by doing the project for him - almost entirely for him. I thought that it would have been good for him to face the consequences of his lack of responsibility. But then, I decided that I had done the right thing. By watching what I was doing, Sean saw this thing go from just an idea to a competed project. He saw me organize my thoughts and check to make sure all the required elements were there. He heard me talk about imagining what would happen if the project was real.

By the way, the project was to make a mock advertisement selling a book. It was on poster board and would be for display in a book store - if it was real. Too bad I didn't take a picture of it. I could have posted the ad here for your review.

Dreams:

Jill called me this morning. She had a dream last night. The dream was that Nettie had a baby at home (what's new?) and she was trying to hide it. Jill said it was one of those dreams that gives you a sense of urgency, like you have to do something.

She had a similar sense of urgency the day before Levi was born - we didn't know he was being born. He, too, was born at home.

Jill's not sure what to make of this dream. Was it from God or indigestion? She did speak to Nettie's sister on the phone last night about supper time. I believe that sometimes God speacks to us in our dreams. Sometimes, though, dreams are just that: dreams.

They that wait on the Lord

Waiting on the Lord is a lot like being in the front-lean-and-rest
position. It starts off pretty easy, but the longer you wait, the
more painful it gets. In the end, it is worth it.

So, what do I have to offer?

I've just got a couple minutes before I need to leave, so I'll give it a shot.

This blogging thing is senseless unless I can give readers something that they didn't have when they hit my blog. There are a lot of things that a blogger could give his readers: laughter, information, news and entertainment to mention a few. Sometimes, I can give you those things - or at least one of them. Today, though, I want to offer you a gift that has been given to me.

That gift is forgiveness. It comes from God and the Lord Jesus Christ (they are two, yet one). You don't have to be somebody to accept it. You don't have to straighten up before being forgiven. You really don't have to DO anything - just accept Jesus and the forgiveness he has offered to you.

Now, if you are ready to accept this, do it now. Talk to Him and tell him what's going, although he already knows.

We'll talk more about this another time. Sorry to cut it off, but I must go. Feel free to leave your comments here or email me. My addy is dadofmykids@hotmail.com.

God Bless!!

Today's his birthday

Happy birthday, Tucker!! Nine years old today.

Sean went to the doctor today. He has strep throat.
